Richie congrats on the big 91-85 victory against the Dresden Titans. How did it feel presenting your basketball abilities with the RheinStars?

I had a great time. They gave me a very warm welcome and I appreciated that.

Except for the third quarter, one could say it was an offensive minded contest. Could one say that Cologne was the better offensive team on the night and had what it took to get the win?

Lol. That’s a fair assessment.

If one wants to be technical one could say that Dresden lost the game at the free throw line where they missed 10 shots, but then again also had four turnovers more. Where do you believe was this game won for the RheinStars?

I feel we were just the better team.

Was this your first time playing against explosive American guard Randal Holt? Why was it so difficult to keep him in check?

It wasn’t difficult for me to keep him in check. He’s a good player though.

You had 10 points, six assists and two steals in 19 minutes. How did you feel on the court? Is this an offense that you will be able to get into the flow with quickly?

I felt comfortable out there. The systems that are run here I have been running for years so it wasn’t hard for me to pick up.

You have switched in mid-season before like two years ago when you went from Frankfurt to Vechta. What do you feel will be the biggest obstacle to master in the early going?

Chemistry. Gel with the team as quickly as possible.

The RheinStars have a lot of talent, but do you feel a little pressure with being a major part of turning the season around now?

Not at all but I do feel we have quality people to make our plans come to fruition.

When looking at the offensive arsenal that the RheinStars have, it is a bit difficult to believe that they only average 73ppg. Do you feel like this is a team that can average in the high 70´s to 80´s in points in the future?

I believe so. We have some talent and I just got to the team so it will be interesting to see what happens.

You are the oldest on the team. Are you more a guy that leads by example or do you have the ability to be that vocal leader on and off the court?

A little bit of both. I’m the most seasoned guy on the team so I think that’s expected of me.

It has been a very difficult season for Phoenix Hagen. How difficult was it for you to make this decision to leave Hagen for Cologne?

It was an easy decision for me. My family comes first.

Do you believe that all the financial woes and everything around that has really effected the team mentally which has limited them to perform to their best abilities?

For sure. Without a question. How would you respond if you weren’t getting paid for your hard work?

If you had one wish for Phoenix Hagen what would it be?

I hope the players find a stable situation.

David Bell can dish out the assists and shoot out the lights. What do you believe did he learn from your playmaking in the short time and what did you learn from his shooting?

Dave is one of the best scorers in the league. In practice I would go at him like it was games. I don’t know what he noticed about my game but I hope he noticed my competitive drive.

Who won a one on one you or David Bell?

We never played but that would be a good game.

Where will the journey of the Golden State Warriors end this season? Do you see them going on a big winning streak as soon as the team meshes?

They will do really well but I don’t see them repeating the season they had last year.

Kevin Garnett has retired. Where do you rank him with the best power forwards of all-time?

He’s top 5 for me at the position.

What was the last movie that you saw?

American Hustle.

Thanks Richie for the chat.
