Congrats on the big 82-69 win against the Fraport Skyliners. Do you think that you could be getting an even better Christmas present on the 25th than getting this win against Frankfurt?

As a team, it is definitely a good way to go in to the holiday. It was a big win and much needed for the medi organization.

After having lost the last three games in a row and giving respect to the wins against Giessen and Bonn, is this win against Frankfurt which was recently the hottest team in the league the biggest win of the season?

Every win is a big in for us. Now we just have to work on being consistent as a team and getting win after win.

Medi Bayreuth outscored Frankfurt 53-29 in the second and fourth quarters. Did the team play good basketball for more than 20 minutes?

Yea, we absolutely played good basketball for more than 20 minutes. We talked all week about playing a solid game for a full 40 minutes and we did that. The result was us winning and thats what we need to concentrate on doing every game.

Frankfurt played primarily with a 6 man rotation. Did you sense that they were tired at the end?

To be honest, I didn’t sense anything. I was more focused on concentrating on doing whatever I could to help us win.

It was the Jeff Xavier and John Flowers show in the fourth quarter as Xavier drilled home four three pointers and Flowers dropped two three pointers. Was this the best Xavier that you have seen this season considering he just came off an injury?

We all know Jeff can play and it was a good game for him but he didn’t do anything we didn’t knew he was capable of. This game was big for him because it was his comeback game and once again, he showed what he can do.

How proud were you of the team defensive effort. This was the third least points that the team gave up this season after Bonn and Giessen. What was the biggest strength on defense that was consistent for 40 minutes?

We played aggressive and we played as a team. Everyone had each-others backs and thats important on the defensive end

How important has the pick up of John Flowers been? What new dimension does he give that wasn´t present before?

John is a great addition to the team. He’s one of our best play makers and one of the people we look to down the stretch.

How has your game profited with John Flowers coming on board and having him and experienced Andrew Naymick share the floor with you?

Its profited a lot. The floor is more open because there’s people that you have to guard and that gives everyone more opportunities to contribute

Johannes Voigtmann led the Fraport Skyliners with 22 points, had seven rebounds and five assists. Where do you rank him at the moment at the center position in the Beko BBL?

From who we played so far, he’s the best center in my opinion. He has an all around game that has shown to be very useful and versatile.

Medi Bayreuth had a good balance scoring well on offense and giving a great defensive effort. How much self confidence does the team have going into the Bavarian derby against the Brose Baskets Bamberg?

We have a lot of confidence but we know this game isn’t going to be a cake walk. Bamberg is one of the best teams in the league and defending champs, we can’t take them lightly. We have to go in there and play our hearts out. If we don’t, then they’ll roll over us.

What was your fondest childhood memory of Christmas as a kid?

Honestly, being able to spend the holidays with family is the best memory I have growing up. Being a kid and waking up to a bunch of gifts was good, but I always enjoyed just being with the people I love.

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

I just saw Creed the other day and it was really good. It made me want to go box.

Thanks Ken for the chat.
