He spoke to German Hoops before the game against the Eisbaeren Bremerhaven

Hi Josh thanks for talking to German Hoops again. Congrats on the 88-82 win against the EWE Baskets Oldenburg on the road. This was your first two game winning streak as a Beko BBL player. How good does it feel seeing many happy faces after wins the last two weeks?

It really feels great to be able to put a couple of wins together and see the way the team has continued to fight and stay together it’s a great feeling but we know we have more work to do!

This was a real battle at the end, but MBC had the better nerves. What was key for getting the win against Oldenburg in crunch time?

Oldenburg is a great team and well coached. We just played hard and competed! It was a great game just glad we stayed together in the end.

The Mitteldeutscher BC shot very well again especially from the free throw line but gave up curiously 18 offensive rebounds. Is rebounding still a thorn in the side of MBC?

Rebounding is still a work in progress and a part of the game I’m confident if we focus on we will continue to improve, thankful that we could do other things to compensate and still earn a win.

How fun did you have playing in the new Oldenburg arena and playing against Rickey Paulding. Are these games the moments to talk to players like that before or after a game or do you know many of these players already?

It was a lot of fun playing in the new arena. The atmosphere was great and to play against some good players like Rickey Paulding was a great experience for me. I really don’t talk to the players until after the game unless I’m familiar with them. But I do know or played against lot of players in the league.

One can always laud the play of Marcus Hatten, Angelo Caloiaro or yourself as you three have been very steady performers as of late, but one guy that really impressed especially against Frankfurt was Croatian Hvoje Kovacevic. He is a guy that is always so aggressive with the ball. What do you like most about his game?

Kova is a player that doesn’t get enough credit but he is a very key player on our team! Whatever the team needs from him he brings it whether it’s defense or offense he always finds a way to get the job done. He is a good player!

You had another solid performance with 17 points. How adjusted are you to the Beko BBL now after almost three months? You seem to have built your steady own niche on the court and just seem very comfortable in your abilities.

The BBL was an adjustment coming from Pro B but MBC made my transition and finding my rhythm was easy. And because of that I am in a state where I’m both confident in my team and myself.

The Mitteldeutscher BC return home to meet the Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. What kind of game can we await and what will be key to winning?

It’s going to be a good game. We just have to play the way we know and compete on the defensive end which I feel is key for us!

Bremerhaven point guard Darius Adams has been a big reason for their turnaround of late. He is a guy that nobody has really talked much about, but he is having a great season. Is this another guy that you will enjoy battling on the court?

He is a big key for them and has been playing well. We are looking forward to playing them and just focused on what we need to do as a team to win.

What present do you really really want for Christmas this season?

The Christmas gift I really wanted this season was to have my family here in Germany for Christmas.

What was the last DVD movie that you saw?

Blue Streak.

Thanks Josh for the chat.
